MUSH is an overnight oats product produced in Vista, California.

History[edit]

MUSH was launched by Ashley Thompson and Kat Thomas in 2015 in San Diego, California.[1] They began by selling the product in local farmers’ markets. They sold approximately $80,000 of product in their first year.[1]

On November 26th, 2017, Thompson and Thomas presented MUSH on the twelfth episode of the ninth season of ABC’s Shark Tank. After receiving offers from both Rohan Oza and Mark Cuban, the founders decided to accept Cuban’s offer.[2] They received $300,000 for a 10% stake in the company, as well as an unlimited line of credit.[3]

Production[edit]

MUSH Overnight Oats are made by soaking oats in dairy-free nut milks (almond or coconut) blended with whole food ingredients.[2] The product is sold in a single-serving 6 ounce container with a spoon under the lid. The container is recyclable and BPA-free.[4] MUSH uses high pressure pasteurization (HPP) to extend the product's shelf-life.[1]
