Mack Brown (born September 15, 1986) is an American football coach who is the Tight Ends Coach for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL).
He previously served as an assistant coach with the New York Jets, Missouri State University, University of Missouri, and William Jewell College.[1]
Playing Career
Brown attended University of Colorado as a freshman after being one of the top recruits from the state of Kansas.[2] After his freshman year, he transferred to Baker University where he was a first-team All-HAAC performer in 2008 and set multiple school records. He was also a three-time NAIA Academic All-American for Baker, leading the Wildcats to their first NAIA playoff berth in 15 years.[3] [4]
Coaching Career
William Jewell College
Brown began his coaching career in 2010 at William Jewell as a Wide Receivers Coach for one season.
Lawrence High School
Brown then went on to serve as the Offensive Coordinator for one season at Lawrence High School.
University of Missouri
Brown then moved on to the University of Missouri where he served as a graduate assistant for three seasons on Gary Pinkel's staff. The Tigers reached the SEC Championship game the last two seasons Brown was in Columbia.
Missouri State University
Brown joined the Missouri State program as the Wide Receivers Coach in 2015 and was promoted to Offensive Coordinator before the 2016 season. He also coached the Quarterbacks while holding the Offensive Coordinator title. In his first year overseeing the Missouri State offense, the team posted nearly a two-touchdown improvement per game in scoring. In all three seasons, the Bears’ offense improved in scoring and in yards per game.
New York Jets
Brown joined the New York Jets as a defensive assistant in 2019 under Head Coach Adam Gase. After two seasons on the defensive staff, Gase was replaced by Robert Saleh and Brown was moved to the offensive side of the ball where he served as an Offensive Assistant for three seasons.
Seattle Seahawks
Brown joined Mike Macdonald's initial staff with the Seattle Seahawks as Tight Ends Coach on February 22, 2024.[5] Seattle won Super Bowl LX during the 2025 season.
Personal life
Brown was born on September 15, 1986, in Kansas City, Missouri. He and his wife, Amanda, have one son, Reed, and one daughter, Quinn. Brown's father, Sam Brown, played football at the University of Missouri and is a legendary high school head football coach in Missouri and Kansas.
