Search Mad Zoo on Amazon.Mad Zoo is an American record label, based in Los Angeles, California founded by Mat Zo in August, 2014.[1] The label is known for its two recent compilations[2], its focus on Drum and Bass music, and as a platform of up and coming artist,[3] and has been described as "forward-thinking"[4] and being "at the fore-front of explorative listening."[5] In an interview for Noisey, Mat Zo explained the creation of the new label by stating that he "always wanted a quicker outlet for my music."[6] The first compilation,This is Mad Zoo was released on July 5, 2019, which included 12 tracks from various artists including DJ Craze, Anti.Negative, Rome in Silver, Kayoh, Mat Zo, and others.[7] Speaking to Billboard, Mat Zo described the first compilation as "representing all of what we’re about - taking electronic music’s past and beaming it into the future."[8] The second compilation, entitled This is Mad Too, was released exclusively on Beatport on January 20[9], and on all other major streaming platforms on January 24, 2020,[10] including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. This is Mad Too includes a total of 17 tracks from Mat Zo, Tsuruda, Rohaan, Acrillics, Gladez, Anti.Negative and others.[11] The compilation album was described as a "must-listen" by prominent underground electronic music blog FUXWITHIT.[12] A release party for the compilation was hosted by Bass Waffles in Highland Park, Los Angeles, on January 26, 2020.[13]
