Madame Monsieur is a french pop duo consisting of members Émilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas.

Career[edit]

On 4 November 2016, Madame Monsieur released their debut studio album Tandem. The album includes the singles "You Make Me Smile", "Égérie", "See Ya", "Morts ou vifs", "Partir" and "Tournera". On 1 January 2018 they confirmed their participation in Destination Eurovision 2018 with the song "Mercy", the song was written about a girl of the same name born in the midst of the European migrant crisis.[1][2][3][4] They performed during the second semi-final which filmed on 9 January 2018 and aired on 20 January 2018. They performed a cover of "Désenchantée" by Mylène Farmer and their Eurovision. they progressed to the Final by winning the semi-final. Results in the semi-final were determined by a Francophone jury panel and an international jury panel.[5][6]

Influences[edit]

The group's musical style has been likened by The Huffington Post and Wiwibloggs to avant-pop singer-songwriter Christine and The Queens.[7][8]

Émilie and Jean-Karl married in 2015.
