Madhurjya Borah (born on 30th December) in Jorhat, Assam is an Indian sports triathlete, sports coach, and a fitness enthusiast. Madhurjya initially worked in an investment banking firm after obtaining a degree in Arts from Dibrugarh University, Assam. Since childhood, he was passionately involved in many sports activities such as football, volleyball, athletics, swimming and more. He was selected as a school captain in many athletic activities due to his inclination towards sports. Madhurjya also participated in drama and theatre. He discovered his passion for triathlon in 1999. In a local triathlon event held in Dibrugarh, Assam, he was learned about this sport, which was in it’s budding state in India. Madhurjya contested in 2000 for Assam State triathlon championship and was selected for the Indian National Games 2002. He moved from Assam to Bangalore to pursue his dream and played in several sports events across the globe. Indian National Games 2002 was his first national triathlon held in Hyderabad/Vishakapatnam. From 2002 to 2012, he was one of the top 10 athletes in several sports events. In 2012, he won his first National podium. He has been an unbeatable Assam state champion for over a decade and has won many accolades and medals in triathlon and cross-country running championships. In addition to being a triathlete, he participates in swimming and long-distance race. He is also an online fitness coach and a sports mentor.
