Magali Delmas

Magali A. Delmas is a Professor of Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. She also serves as the director of the UCLA Center for Corporate Environmental Performance. Her research interests are primarily in the areas of Business Strategy and Corporate Sustainability. She works on developing effective information strategies to promote conservation behavior and the development of green markets.

She received her Master's Degree in Political Science from Pantheon-Sorbonne University and Sciences Po and her PhD in Strategy at the HEC School of Management.

Professional career[edit]

Delmas has taught at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

From 2014 to 2017, she was the President of the Alliance for Research in Corporate Sustainability (ARCS).

Delmas has written over 80 articles, book chapters, and case studies on corporate sustainability.[1] She is known for her work developing effective information strategies to promote conservation behavior and the development of green markets.[2][3] Her book: “The Green Bundle: Pairing the Market with the Planet” was recently published by Stanford University Press.

Her research includes the investigation of the barriers and incentives to adopt energy efficient solutions,[4][5] the analysis of the link between organic certification and product quality,[6] the exploration of the mechanisms that link corporate sustainability practices to employee productivity, and the development of methodologies to measure and communicate firm sustainability[7]

Her work has been supported by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the National Science Foundation and the California Air Resources Board.
