Mahadev Mukherjee was an Indian Communist leader and Naxalite of Marxist-Leninist ideology.
Formerly Mahadev worked in the Communist Party of India (Marxist) but soon he was expelled due to his radical ways of Communism. In 1967 he and Charu Majumdar alongside with more comrades formed the CPI ML.[1]
Role in the Naxalbari uprising[edit]
CPI M was spilt in half following the Naxalbari uprising. Many members of the comittee was expelled by the CPI M. This was the origin of Naxalism. Mahadev and Charu Majumdar was the two central leaders who organised the revolt. Following the death of Majumdar, pro-Majumdar forces emerged. The main party was Mahadev's faction.[2][3]
