Mahammad Turkman (Azerbaijani: Məhəmməd Türkmən) (full name: Mahammad Meretgeldi oghlu Turkman; born on October 17, 1990, Mary, Turkmen SSR, USSR) – Azerbaijani journalist,[1] reporter and photographer[2][3] of Turkmen origin;[4] Founder of Fotograflar.com;[5][6] Editor-in-chief of Minval.info (2018 – currently).[7][8][9][10] One of the founders and a member of the Board of the Republican Youth Movement "Davam"[11]

Mahammad Meretgeldi oghlu Turkman was born on October 17, 1990 in Mary city, Turkmen SSR.
Mahammad Turkman spent part of his childhood in Mary city, Turkmenistan, and part in Salyan region, Azerbaijan.[4]
He has been working as a journalist since 2011. Mahammad Turkman has participated in many local and international journalism trainings. He has worked as a reporter for Internet TV channels such as BakuNews, Kanal 13, Elitar.az and several other websites.[4] In October 2013, he began working as a photojournalist for the Yeni Müsavat newspaper.[4][12][13]
Mahammad Turkman, who prepares reports on extreme situations and the social sphere, and also alone represented the media organization where he works for in international contests in our country. In January 2018, he was promoted to editor-in-chief of Minval.Info.[7][8][9]
Mahammad Turkman was one of the first journalists to go to the frontline during the tensions and small battles. In order to enhance this experience, he also took part in the "Practice Landfill Trainings for Extreme Journalists" in 2016 and was awarded a diploma.[14]
Along with journalism, Mahammad Turkman is also engaged in photography. He has won various awards and received training in this field.[2][3][15] His photos won different competitions. The website Fotoqraflar.com, where he is the author and founder of the idea, is an online education and photo news portal that has no alternative in Azerbaijan. The website was launched in 2016 and is available to all photographers.[5][6]
In 2020, he was one of the founders of the "Davam" Republican Youth Movement at a briefing at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Baku. Each member of the Initiative Group represents the youth of Azerbaijan in this movement in a specific direction. Thus, M. Turkmen acts as a representative of young journalists in Azerbaijan.[16] He is also a member of the board of the movement.[17][18]
Personal life[edit]
He currently lives in Baku. He is not a member of any party. He is married to journalist Konul Ibrahim.[19][20][21] He has a daughter named Nur.[22]
