Maharashtra State Highway 53 (MH SH 53)[1] is a highway that connects Bhimashankar[2] to Manchar and Belhe.[3] MH SH 53 is a main highway of the Ambegaon taluka subdivision of Pune District in Maharashtra. MH SH 54 goes from various small and big towns and villages. Some major places are Taleghar, Pokhari, Dimbhe, Shinoli, Ghodegaon,[4] Manchar, Nimgaonsawa, and Belhe. It is the most used state highway in the District.[citation needed]
The state highway is a famous path to Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga[5] (Dankinam). Thousands of devotees come here to visit the jyotirlinga and Bhimashankar wildlife Sanctuary. This highway[6] presents an opportunity to local business owners. It is known as the mother road of Ambegaon. Also, it is the sister highway of MH SH54. This highway has another name as Maharashtra State Highway 112 or MH SH112 for its Manchar–Bhimashankar route.[citation needed]
