Mahboub Baccouch (born February 1, 1979) is an associate professor of applied and computational mathematics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). He received a PhD in mathematics from Virginia Tech university and has been a faculty member at UNO since 2008.[2]

Baccouch's research is in numerical and computational methods in science and engineering, specifically finite element methods, partial differential equations (PDEs), and computational science. His primary focus is on discontinuous Galerkin (DG) and local DG (LDG) methods, which provide accurate analyses of a wide variety of PDEs by utilizing a posteriori error estimates. Baccouch's other area of research is the application of numerical methods to stochastic differential equations.[3][4][5]

Baccouch is the coauthor of a chapter on discontinuous Galerkin methods.[6] His work is highly cited in the field.[7]
