Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mahmoud Hassani Sorkhi (Arabic: السيد محمود الحسني الصرخي) (born 1960) is an Iraqi Twelver Shi'a Marja.[2][3]
He has studied in seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and Ali al-Sistani.[4] As of 2017[update], he is the youngest living man commonly accorded the status of Grand Ayatollah, and the only one under the age of sixty.
