Maia Kirk is an American motorsports competitor who participates in autocross, time trials, and time attack competition. She has competed in regional and national events organized by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), including the Arizona Border Region (AZBR), Cal Club and San Diego regions, as well as nationally recognized time attack events.

Racing career

Early involvement

Kirk began competing in organized track and autocross events in 2020, focusing on vehicle control disciplines and progressively expanding into time trials and time attack formats.

Autocross

Kirk has competed extensively in Southern California autocross competition. In 2023, she won the Street Touring Xtreme (STX) class championship in the SCCA Cal Club Region.[1] In the same season, she finished second overall in STX standings with the SCCA San Diego Region.[2]

At the national level, Kirk finished 15th in the Solo Spec Coupe Ladies class at the 2022 SCCA Solo National Championships in Lincoln, NE.[3] Earlier that season, she competed in the 2022 SCCA Solo National Tour in Las Vegas, NV, finishing fifth in the Solo Spec Coupe Ladies class.[4]

Time trials and time attack

Kirk has competed in SCCA Time Trials National Tour events. In 2024, she placed third in Tuner 4 (T4) class at the SCCA Time Trials National Tour event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Las Vegas, NV). [5] In 2022, she placed second in Sport 6 (S6) class at the SCCA Time Trials National Tour event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park (Buttonwillow, CA). [6] In both events, she drove a 2013 Scion FR-S.

She has also competed in Global Time Attack, finishing eighth (P8) in the Enthusiast class at Global Time Attack Round 4 in 2024 at Podium Club at Attesa (Casa Grande, AZ).[7]

Awards and recognition

In 2022, Kirk was named a recipient of the SCCA Women on Track Wendi Allen Scholarship, an award recognizing competitive performance and community involvement within SCCA programs.[8] That same year, Kirk was featured by the Sports Car Club of America during its 2022 Women’s History Month showcase.[9]

Sponsorship and marketing

Kirk has participated in manufacturer-supported motorsports programs and short-term sponsorship arrangements during the early 2020s. These have included associations with Falken Tires, König Wheels, Mishimoto, Corbeau Seats, and Ms. Motorhead. Some of these associations were time-limited and not publicly announced.

Kirk appeared in print advertising for Falken Tires as part of an AZENIS FK460 A/S campaign published in Grassroots Motorsports (May 2023).[10]
