Mainstreet Equity is a Canadian based real estate company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, that provides apartments to renters in Western Canada. The company was founded in 2000 by Bob Singh Dhillon. Mainstreet is a publically traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Mainstreet continues to operate on a countercyclical business model, acquiring apartment complexes when the market is less than favourable and transforming the buildings into a boutique, modern place to live.[1]
Apartments in Calgary[edit]
Mainstreet currently has its head office located in Calgary. They also have over 62 Apartment complexes, and 2447 individual units scattered throughout the city.[2]. Currently, Mainstreet is operating in inner-city Calgary. They currently have apartments located in Bankview, Bridgeland, NE Calgary, SE Calgary, Mount Royal, Beltline, Bowness and many other areas.
Apartments in Edmonton[edit]
Edmonton is one of Mainstreets biggest portfolios, currently, Mainstreet owns and operates 137 unique buildings with 4227 units in Edmonton alone. MEQ owns and operates a landmark property in the city of Edmonton called Mainstreet Tower which is located in Downtown Edmonton, in the ice district. Mainstreet also offers apartments in communities like Oliver, Jasper and on trendy 124 ST.
