Majestic Repertory Theatre is a community theater in Las Vegas, Nevada that was founded in 2016 by Troy Heard. [1] The theater's namesake is the Majestic Theatre, one of the first theater's in Las Vegas [2] that was in the current location of the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street. [3]
History[edit]
Prior to Majestic's opening, Troy Heard, the president and creative director of Majestic, worked at the Onyx Theatre as the producing director. Then in 2016, Troy and the owner of Onyx had creative differences, so Troy and many of Onyx's board left to create Majestic. [1]
Majestic's first show was Little Shop of Horrors on October 20, 2016. [1] [2] It was performed in the Alios Gallery where Majestic has set up shop officially [4]
Majestic has worked with many great playwrights including Amber Ruffin with Bigfoot: The Musical [5] and Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor with The Sandman. [6]
