Maksim Gennadievich Simchenko (born 26 October 1992), better known by his alias Maks_SF,[1] is a Belarusian musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound designer and a founder of the independent record label Venator Music.[2]
Biography
Maks started playing lead guitar in a heavy metal band Death in Tension but quit in 2011. In 2012, he started a solo career under the alias Untitled Project of Maks_SF. He released four full-length albums before he was hired as a music composer for the first time in 2016.
His composition "Everything Will Fade Away" from his third album was used in the documentary Made in BY (produced by Five Service and CPA Roma Tre).[3] On 29 December 2015, a new album "Last One Standing" was released by the independent label "Venator Music". The album consists of nine new songs and three remixes.[4] Two of the songs featured Crytek[5]. The album is a mixture of synth pop and industrial.[6]
In 2016, he scored the new chapter of the iconic isometric top-down shooter video game Alien Shooter[7] (developed and published by Sigma Team), a reimagined version of the original 2003 title.
Later that year, Maks scored the video game Squake[8] (developed and published by On5).
He also composed music for numerous mobile games (such as xPixels, Ninja Stars: A Colourful Ninja Hero Adventure and others), TV commercials for Copetrol[9] and other companies and several trailers for the video game Elsword[10] (developed by the South Korean company KOG Games).
Maks_SF was featured as a remixer on Dreams of Neo-Tokyo [11] official remix album by Scandroid (a side project formed by Klayton).
Maks has described himself as "a composer, producer and self-confessed music maniac who creates different kinds of music, including synthwave, ambient, electronic rock, industrial, and trailer soundtracks".[12]
Maks Simchenko married Ekaterina Belikova (better known as Ninja Jo) on May 7, 2016.
