Malao Film
Malao Film is an independent film production company based in Beverly Hills, which was founded in 2012.[1] Further sister companies of the US entity are located in Australia and Germany.[2]
The first production called "Spaghetti for Two" (based on the book of the same name by Federica de Cesco) received prizes and awards at international film festivals.[3][4][5][6]
In 2012, Malao Film acquired the film rights to Michael Ende's novel "Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer" and produced the German-language adaptation of this children's book classic together with the Munich-based Rat Pack Filmproduktion, Warner Bros. Germany and Babelsberg Studio.[7][8][9][10] The filming was directed by Dennis Gansel at the Filmpark and Babelsberg Studio, Potsdam-Babelsberg, Munich-Geiselgasteig as well as in Cape Town and the surrounding area.[11][12] The film had its international release in Berlin on March 29, 2018.[13][14]
