Malcolm Draper is a British Oscar-winning animator.[dubious ]

He has worked on most major animated cartoons, including Yellow Submarine,[1][2] The Pink Panther Show, Pink Floyd - The Wall, When The Wind Blows, Daffy Duck, The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones.

Biography[edit]

Malcolm worked in London in the 1960s on many TV cartoons including The Lone Ranger and The Beatles.[3] The latter led him to work on The Beatles' innovative Yellow Submarine.[1][4]

He was part of Richard Williams' team that won the Academy Award for A Christmas Carol (which included the voices of Alastair Sim and Michael Redgrave).[5]

In the 1970s he worked in Spain and then Hollywood. He worked on Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, The Pink Panther Show, The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo and many more.

In the 1980s he continued to work in Los Angeles on movies such as The Mouse and His Child, Heavy Metal,[1] and Faeries.

However, he continued to return to the UK to work on animations such as Raymond Briggs' When The Wind Blows and Father Christmas,[1] plus The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends and Pink Floyd - The Wall, where he produced many of the walking hammer sequences.
