Maliwalo National High School (MNHS) is a public secondary school located in Barangay Maliwalo, Tarlac City, Tarlac, Philippines. It operates under the supervision of the Department of Education through the Tarlac City Schools Division.
History
Maliwalo National High School was established in 1967 to provide secondary education for learners in Maliwalo and neighboring barangays.[1]
Academic programs
Maliwalo National High School follows the K–12 Basic Education Curriculum mandated by the Department of Education, providing Junior High School (Grades 7–10) and Senior High School (Grades 11–12) levels.[3]
Senior High School in the Philippines is organized into several tracks, including the Academic Track and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track; schools locally decide which specific strands and specializations to offer based on capacity and division guidance.[4][5]
MNHS is reported to participate in the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) Program with research-oriented Grade 10 projects.[6]
Community involvement
In June 2023, the Department of Trade and Industry held a fish-processing training workshop at the school as part of its Technology and Livelihood Education program, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among students and parents.[7]
In February 2024, the Philippine Space Agency distributed Space Science and Technology Applications (SSTA) learning kits to Maliwalo National High School and provided training to its educators to integrate space science into classroom instruction.[8]
