Manoj Basnet (born 1 December 1990) is a Nepali Film Producer and Music Producer. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Eight K. Everest Motion Pictures Private Limited, also known as 8K Everest Motion Pictures.[1] He is known for his works in the Nepal Film Industry.
Career
Basnet founded 8K Everest Motion Pictures in 2014 when he was 24. He started the music distribution company when people were very likely to see and listen to music on YouTube and other music platforms. Hustling through the difficulties, he established one of the renowned music distribution companies in Nepal. He changed the music industry at a different level by changing the trend in the music industry in Nepal. He is also renowned for being a film director [2] and film producer [3] in the music industry of Nepal.
As managing director, Basnet collaborated with different artists and made a difference in the Music Industry. He brought revolution in digital marketing by taking the risk of producing quality music and videos which changed the phase of the digital music industry in Nepal when people didn't take risks or invest much in the music industry.
Music and film producer
After firming his company's presence in the music market, Manoj Basnet ventured into making films.
In 2017, Basnet produced Kammarko Tattoo[4] which was his first music video and became one of the trending videos on YouTube and still is. This music video was collaborated with Almoda Rana Uprety and The Cartoon Crews Team. Manoj Basnet released a new music video, Pitch Road.[5] Pitch Road proved to be a turning point for Basnet's production house which was featured by Sushant Khatri and Aanchal Sharma in 2018, which was the first music video of Sushant Khatri and Aanchal Sharma too, and it created records in Nepal on Youtube.
Basnet’s subsequent projects included such films as Mantra.[6] Mantra - A Himalayan Love Story film, starring Saugat Malla [7] and Diya Pun and directed by Khil Bahadur Gurung.
Manoj Basnet has worked with directors such as Shann Thapa,[8] Tekendra Shah,[9] Rahul Shah and Dipak Acharya for his company 8K Everest Motion Pictures[10]. He has also worked with different artists like Paul Shah, Swastima Khadka, Najir Husen, Khagendra Lamichhane, Barsha Raut, Aryan Sigdel, Alisha Rai and many more from Nepal. He has even worked with international collaborations like Achurjya Borpatra and Prashant Tamang.
Personal life
Manoj Basnet [11] was born in a Chhetri family in Ramechhap in the family of a teacher from Ramechhap.
