Manoj Kana, a famous Indian film director born in 1973 in Payyannur, made his name in Malayalam cinema through theater and four standout films. In 2012, Chayilyam made waves in Malayalam cinema with its exceptional quality and direction, especially among Kerala's cultural and film communities. It's a female-centric film that won awards and appeared in international film festivals. Amoeba (film) released in 2016, highlights the struggles of Kasaragod Endosulfan disaster victims, shedding light on their unnoticed hardships.
