Manramp is a fictional character in the Thrasher Magazine film series by The Worble [1]. The character was co-created by Tom Mull and Alex Farrara and inspired by Brian Glenney in 2015, based on a short film Surface: Plywood, 2/19/2015 at The Berrics [2]. Manramp first appeared in a short film on Thrasher Magazine [3]. He is portrayed by co-creator Alex Farrara. The character is widely considered to be the Worble's most iconic star, with his antics celebrated in such shows as Viceland's King of the Road, where he was a mystery guest for Foundation Skateboards team [4]. He has even been studied by scholars as a kind of moving skatepark [5] He received critical acclaim for his performance in his first movie, New Driveway [6] and when he reprised his role once again in the 2018 film Toxic Planet [7], his performance received wider acclaim.

Manramp was born in Bennington, Vermont, on July 6, 1986. He was the only child in a Roman Catholic Italian-American family, and raised in Shushan, New York.

Character origin
The name, iconography, and skating style of Manramp were inspired by his friends the Worble from Vermont. His name was shouted by an unknown young skater while engaged in his antics [8], and it stuck with his friends calling him up to help when a skate spot needed a little lift. His theme song by Cobraman of Goner Records, entitled Manramp, is played whenever his strength and boundless energy is needed [9].

Manramp's best attribute is without question his near-superhuman ability to absorb a multitude of the hardest hits without falling — an attribute he often employs to help his friends, sacrificing his body for their glory. Because of this rare talent, Manramp can afford to keep his hands in position to support his plywood ramp. Because he helps his friends more than he skates, it is easy to overlook his incredible skating power. He also has an uncanny ability to sense the skating imbalances of his friends, often capitalizing on every shift in momentum possible. He is acknowledged as having the most ripped body in skating. Tony Hawk was overheard whispering, "He's not human, he's like a piece of wood." Mike Burnett of Thrasher Magazine once remarked about Manramp: "that guy's got wrenches in his gloves." These qualities, in concert, helped his friends land a high percentage of tricks over the course of his career.
