History[edit]
In 1953, President Elpidio Quirino proclaimed a land area of 13,480 square metres (145,100 sq ft) in Barangay Rizal, Roxas, Isabela as a site for "Roxas Memorial Emergency Hospital" while in 1960, former Congressman Delfin Albano introduced a bill creating the Roxas Emergency Hospital building. On September 8, 1962, it was opened for the public service with Dr. Luz Abergas as the 1st Officer in Charge. In 1975, the hospital was given a 50-bed capacity permit by the Department of Health bearing the name of "Manuel A. Roxas General Hospital". In April 1993, the Department of Health by virtue of Republic Act 7160 devolved the hospital to the Provincial Government of Isabela and by the virtue of the resolution by the local government of Roxas.[4] The name was then changed to "Manuel A. Roxas District Hospital".
On November 8, 2003, the provincial government under Governor Faustino S. Dy, Jr. decided to upgrade the four dilapidated hospitals in Isabela with new modern building designs. MARDH was then relocated to San Antonio, Roxas, Isabela.
