Manuel Ferrara (born January 3, 1997) is an Italian former amateur soccer player and journalist. In 2014, he played as a striker for S.S.D. Pomezia Calcio, retiring a year later to dedicate himself fully to journalism.
Early life
Manuel Ferrara was born on January 3, 1997 in Genzano di Roma, although he spent most of his childhood in Pomezia, Italy. At the age of 17, he played amateur football for S.S.D. Pomezia Calcio, parallel to his beginnings as a journalist.[1][2]
In 2015, he retired from sports to dedicate himself fully to journalism, where he began to write mainly about politics, social life and sports for the Ordine Giornalisti di Lazio.
In 2020, he graduated in Communication Sciences at the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Entertainment at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with a thesis on big data. This same year, he obtained a position in the communication office of the Ministry of Sport of the Italian Government, in addition to working as a communication consultant.
In 2021, he completed his master's degree at the 24 Ore Business School on green economy, urban regeneration and the rebirth of communities, receiving a special mention for his work.
Currently, he is pursuing a master's degree in information, publication and journalism, through his thesis on the use of AI in the world of sports.[3]
