On Gefragt – gejagt, he first appeared as a contestant and, together with two other finalists, won €27,500 against “chaser” Klaus Otto Nagorsnik in an episode which aired in April 2017. One year later, on 24 May 2018, he himself became a chaser on the show.
Hobiger graduated from Riemenschneider-Gymnasium in his native Würzburg[4], studied Physics at the University of Würzburg and graduated in 2007. He continued with postgraduate studies at the Université Grenoble Alpes in France and obtained his doctorate degree with a thesis entitled Polarization of surface waves: characterization, inversion and application to seismic hazard assessment. From 2010 until 2013, he worked as a postdoc for the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources in Hanover, and since 2013, he has been employed as a research fellow and seismologist at the Swiss Seismological Service in Zurich.[5]
