Manuel Caramori (Mantua, Lombardy, Italy, July 25, 1983 – August 25, 2023) was an Italian singer, songwriter, record producer, and musician, primarily known for his work in the Eurobeat genre. He also used a variant of his surname, "Karamori".

Biography

Early life

Manuel Caramori was born on July 25, 1983, in Mantua, Lombardy, Italy. He entered the Verona Conservatory at age 8, graduating with a degree in classical piano in October 2006. Queen, particularly "Bohemian Rhapsody", was a major musical influence. [1]

Beginnings (2002–2010)

Caramori started his career in 2002 at age 19, approaching Dave Rodgers at Rodgers Studio. After an audition, he recorded "Feel The Night", which remained unreleased until 2020. He debuted in 2003 with "I've Got To Go" on Super Eurobeat 141. He released singles like "Big Boy" and "No Control". In 2006, he began writing Italian rock songs. "Gas Gas Gas" was released on September 26, 2007, and "Ready Steady Go!" was also released the same year. In 2010, Mad Man, All is Magic, Limousine and Wanna Belong To Me (under the alias Manolo) were released.

Euronergy

Avex did not release several of Caramori's songs, including "Gonna Feel Alright". Giancarlo Pasquini created Euronergy to publish these songs under new names and aliases, resulting in "Wanna Belong To Me".

Polemìk (2007–2012)

In 2007, Caramori formed the rock band Polemìk with Damiano Pizzoli, Steve Rondini, and Stefano Cassini. After performing at festivals, they released the album "L'inguaribile incoerenza Dell'essere" in 2012. Their lyrics addressed controversial topics. Caramori used Polemìk as an alias on SoundCloud, publishing "Gianna for President". A song dedicated to the actress Gianna Michaels.

Cruise ship work (2013–2020)

From 2013, he worked as a pianist and entertainer on cruise ships. In 2016, he released "Hysteria" and the album "Restless Soul". In 2019, he released "Cosplay Girl" (as Manuel) and "Dance To The Eurobeat" (as Mark Foster, then Ken Martin). "Baby Countdown" (2020) was his last Eurobeat song. He founded MKM_Manuel_Caramori_Music.

Controversies

Crowdfunding incident (2018)

In 2018, Caramori attempted to raise €2,000 for a "Gas Gas Gas" music video. He was accused of spamming and insulting people in a Facebook group, leading to the termination of his contract with Avex Trax.

Cruise ship complaint (2020)[2] [3]

In 2020, he reported COVID-19 risks on the Marella Discovery 2 cruise ship. He was penalized by the cruise line.

Later years and death

2020–2023

In his later years, Caramori continued to produce music and work on cruise ships. In 2020, he released nine singles and the album "Piano & Voice". In 2021, he released "Musica", his last song. He announced his return to Eurobeat in 2023.

Death

He died on August 25, 2023, at the age of 40. His death was announced by Roberto Gabrielli and SCP MUSIC. The cause of death has not been disclosed.[4]
