Mara Kayser (born 2 April 1966 in Sântana, Romania) is a singer of volkstümliche Musik and lives in Saarland.
Biography
Mara Kayser, born a Banat Swabian, began her singing career in a band that performed for weekend dances. After passing her Abitur she trained as an industry businesswoman and worked until 1996 as a personal assistant. In autumn 1991 she was discovered by Claus Backhaus, formerly of Die Flippers, at one of the dance functions.[1]
Since then she has made numerous recordings[2] and many television appearances.[3] She is considered one of schlager’s hardest-working and most consistently successful artists and is generally accepted as one of the superstars of German music.[4]
