From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Marc Ernest Biala (Marc Ernest Biala), (born on September 30, 1986), popularly as “Sir Macoy”, is Mr. Gay World Philippines 2011 and represented the Philippines in the international competition held in Club Mwah, Mandaluyong City, Philippines on March 13, 2011. He won the “Best in National Costume” and “Mr. Popularity” awards. He is also a young Filipino psychiatric nurse, educator, and entrepreneur who is currently CEO and President of All-Star Review Center, a company for education that provides training and reviews to graduates and professionals, and All-Star Publishing House, a publishing company specializing on educational materials. At a young age, he started authoring books, the latest being the Dark Secrets of the NLE: The Must-Have Nursing Review Book.

Early life[edit]

Biala is the third and youngest son of Ernesto Loy Biala, Jr. (Chinese-Davaoeno), who worked overseas as a computer programmer and Magdalena Bitongga Biala (Spanish-Ilonggo), a high school teacher. He was born in Bishop Joseph Regan Memorial Hospital, Tagum City, Davao del Norte on September 30, 1986 at exactly 5:55am thru normal spontaneous vaginal delivery. An account from his mother said that he was prepared with pink linens and toys by his father who was expecting a baby girl. His siblings are Karen Ann Biala (middle), and Eugene Biala (eldest) who in from a vehicular accident at the age of 14.

He studied in St. Mary’s College for his Pre-school, Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School for grade school, and Tagum City National High School. He was a consistent honor student and was involved in journalism, desktop publishing, investigatory projects, cooking contests, choir, speech and dramatics, and cadetship.

Career[edit]

Biala went to St. Mary’s College in Tagum City to study Nursing. It was at those times that he thought studying chemical reactions would make him a scientist, that learning everything that is physics might help him become a pilot, and that doing stunts, choreographies and drama in front of the class might have just transformed him to be a stage actor. All the same he graduated Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007 with plaudits that only he could have gotten: first ever magna cum laude in the College of Nursing, and the first ever batch valedictorian from the College of Nursing. In December of the same year, he sat his Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) and passed.

To further on his nursing career Marc flew to Baguio City. By the time he worked as a psychiatric nurse in Roseville Park Center, he disproved the saying “It takes one to know one.” He believes he is not psychotic. Not entirely though. He’s just neurotic, and he takes pride in being one of the authors of “Psychiatric Nursing” used as reference in St. Louis University’s, Baguio. On the other hand, the thesis entitled “ Correlates of Resilience and Quality of Life of Family Caregivers of Adults with Severe Mental Illness” for his Master of Science in Nursing, Major in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing in the same university has earned him another Latin award, a cum laude this time.

Quite certainly it may have been Biala’s educator of a mother who knocked into him the flair for teaching, and he is one of the few who could walk and talk at the same time in front of a crowd, but also dance, sing, energize, and make the listeners prance about in their seats. A former instructor at St. Louis University and a seasoned national nursing review lecturer for nursing, he now runs his own review center (All-Star Review Center – ASRC) and publishing company (All-Star Publishing House – ASPH). He is currently taking up Doctor of Education in the University of Southern Philippines in Cebu City.

Marc Ernest Biala has also passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) in May 2009, Texas Board of Nursing Jurisprudence Examination in July 2009, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an OBS of 8 in August 2009, and Midwifery Licensure Examination (MLE) in November 2009. He holds a license in Intravenous (IV) Therapy to boot.

Mr. Gay World Philippines[edit]

Biala is 5’8” tall and competed with other gay men representatives in the 2011 Mr. Gay World competition that commenced on March 9 and concluded on the Final Night on March 13 at Club Mwah, (one of the most outstanding theater-clubs in Asia) in the Tiger City of Mandaluyong. The momentous event was hosted by Philippine King of Talk Boy Abunda along with one of the country’s top models Wilma Doesnt and 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman.

He is one gay man, who is an inspiring individual to young gay men and is determined to make a 'difference' and be an effective spokesperson for other Filipino gay men in the country. He was the ideal country’s bet to represent in this prestigious tilt. Biala hopes to contribute in boosting the country’s tourism industry as he serves as the Philippines’ ambassador of goodwill for the duration of his reign and in the competition’s five-day-long activity.

During the final night he was asked if it was possible for a straight man to love a homosexual man and he answered “That is possible but in the event that a straight man falls in love with a gay man then he too becomes gay and that is the magic of gender identity and gender diversity”. He made it to the final ten and bagged the “Best in National Costume” and “Mr. Popularity” awards.
