Sagaert studied civil engineering at the Catholic University of Leuven, graduating as a technical engineer specializing in textiles. After completing his education, he joined the family business, Weverij Sagaert NV[3]. Marc Sagaert began exploring his artistic creativity in the seventies.
Marsa’s art is distinctive for its use of reclaimed metal materials sourced from weaving mills and scrap traders. His sculptures often incorporate recognizable components. These pieces typically utilize materials like iron, cast iron, copper, and stainless steel [2].
Most of Marsa's exhibitions have been held in Kortrijk and the broader West Flanders region. He has participated in group and duo exhibitions alongside artists such as Gérard Eppelé [4], Frédéric Dufoor, and Jan Willekens, but has had solo exhibitions as well[5].
His works are part of public collections, including the Museum Abby of Kortrijk[6], Fucam in Mons [7], and Riksgalleriet for Samtidskunst in Oslo, Norway.
