Marcos Di-Bernardo, born Bento Gonçalves (Rio Grande do Sul State - Brazil), died June 16, 2006 (aged 42), was a Brazilian herpetologist.[1][2]

As a teen, Marcos Di-Bernardo was interested in nature and biology. In 1981, he left to study biology in Porto Alegre and received his doctorate in 1998. He continued his research in Southern Brazil, focusing on snakes and frogs.[3]
