Marcus Sørfossmo (born c. 2002) is a Norwegian student known for setting a rice porridge eating record and for appearing on the television show Norske Talenter (Norway’s Got Talent).[1][2][3][4]
Early life and education
Sørfossmo is from Stavanger, Norway, and later moved to Trondheim to study civil engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).[3]
Porridge-eating record
In February 2024, Sørfossmo consumed approximately 675 grams of rice porridge (risengrynsgrøt) in one minute during an event organized at the Moholt student village in Trondheim.[2][1][3] The attempt was documented with a timer, witnesses, and video evidence. Reports from NRK and Adresseavisen described it as a local and social event within the student community, while *VG* and *Under Dusken* noted that the attempt followed Guinness World Records guidelines. [2][1][4] Following the event, Sørfossmo was informally nicknamed “Grøtkongen” (“the Porridge King”) by local and national media.[2][4]
Appearance on Norske Talenter
According to *Under Dusken*, Sørfossmo appeared as a contestant on the 2024 season of Norske Talenter (Norway’s Got Talent), where he performed his porridge-eating act.[4] He did not advance further in the competition, but his appearance contributed to increased public recognition of his record attempt.[4]
