Margarida, stage name of Margarida Gomes (born August 6, 2007), is a Portuguese singer-songwriter from Vila Real. Music was present in her life from an early age, influenced by her family environment — her grandfather was a music teacher, which had a strong impact on her artistic path.
Early life
Margarida was born on August 6, 2007, in Vila Real, Portugal. Besides singing and dancing, she found in songwriting a way to express her thoughts and emotions. Her main musical influences are fellow Portuguese singers Bárbara Tinoco and Carolina Deslandes, and she has emphasized the importance of supporting national artists.
Career
Margarida began writing her own original songs after watching the television program The Voice, where she noticed that contestants her own age were also writing their own music. Songwriting became a necessity and a natural form of expression for her, as she writes about events from her own life. She has been strongly supported by her school community and friends, who have followed and encouraged her musical growth.
In 2023, at age 16, Margarida won the TransmonTalent competition, standing out as a promising artist in the Trás-os-Montes region. That same year, she participated in the Boreal Winter Festival, held at the Vila Real Theatre, where she presented seven original songs at the Café Concerto.

Her music is available on several digital platforms, including Spotify.
Radio recognition
