Maria Feldman (born September 19, 1976)[citation needed] is a television producer, known for the series False Flag which streamed on Hulu in the US, and was broadcast on Canal+ in France and Fox International channels; and for the Sony Networks/Amazon Prime Original series Absentia starring Stana Katic. She also produced the YES/Netflix action series Fauda and is developing a series called Fertile Crescent.

Life and career[edit]

Feldman was born to a Jewish family in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan (part of the Soviet Union at the time).[citation needed] In 1993 she immigrated to Israel and in 1998 graduated from Tel-Aviv University in major in Film and Television studies.[citation needed] After working for many years as a line producer both in NY and Israel, in 2011 she founded her own production company – Masha Productions.[citation needed]

False Flag[edit]

In 2010 Feldman brought Keshet an idea for False Flag and soon after began developing it into script (alongside Amit Cohen). The series premiered at Berlinale Special Series and won the Grand Prize at Series Mania 2015. False Flag was acquired by Canal + and by Fox International Channels. Deal marked Fox Intl. Channels’ first acquisition of a foreign-language series on a global scale. The series is now streaming on Hulu. False Flag originally aired on Israel's Channel 2 on October 29, 2015 and became the highest rated TV Drama series. In 2016 Keshet ordered the second season of the series. It will air on Keshet channel in Israel on November 21st 2018 and on Canal+, HULU and Fox International channels in 2019. The third season is currently in development.

Absentia[edit]

Following the success of False Flag, in 2016 Feldman was approached by Sony Networks and offered to produce her first American show. Feldman served as an Executive producer and her company Masha produced the show. The world premiere of Absentia was the opening selection at the 57th Monte Carlo Television Festival in June 2017.[9] Absentia was a featured panel at Sony Pictures Television for the annual TV Market.[10] In early 2018 the series was picked up by Amazon, and was released on Amazon Video on February 2, 2018. The second season is now in production.

Fertile Crescent[edit]

In 2017 Feldman began developing her new series: Fertile Crescent. Amit Cohen and Ron Leshem are writing and co-creating the series alongside Feldman. The series is an Israeli-French-American co-production, with Feldman and her Masha productions producing the show together with a producer Eitan Mansury (who is co-creating the show alongside Feldman, Cohen and Leshem) and his Israel-based Spiro Films and French production company HAUT ET COURT. The project won the Co-Production Forum Project Prize at Series Mania Festival in Paris in 2017, and is about to start filming in summer 2019.

Personal life[edit]

Feldman resides in Manhattan, New York with her husband and two sons – Daniel and Mattan.[citation needed]
