Maria Keffler is an American author and activist. She is the co-founder of Arlington Parent Coalition and Partners for Ethical Care.
Career[edit]
Keffler is a former middle and high school teacher.[1]
Keffler founded the Arlington Parent Coalition to push back against new regulations in schools which she saw as providing preferential treatment to transgender children.[2] At the 2019 Values Voter Summit, Keffler spoke on behalf of the coalition to challenge proposed policy in Virginia.[3] In particular, Keffler and the Arlington Parent Coalition are concerned about the legal protection of parents' and girls' rights.[4]
Following the 2021 release of her book, Desist, Detrans, & Detox: Getting Your Child Out of the Gender Cult, Amazon briefly removed the book from its shelves. It was relisted after six days.[5][6]
