Mariana Bento (born 22 November 2001) is a Portuguese professional athlete who specializes in combined events. She competes in both the outdoor heptathlon and the indoor pentathlon and is a national record holder in the heptathlon.
Career Highlights
Bento is one of Portugal's most accomplished athletes in combined events, holding multiple national titles and having set a new standard for the heptathlon in Portugal.
National and International Achievements
- Record-Breaking Heptathlon: In August 2025, Bento made history by becoming the third Portuguese woman and the first to do so on home soil, to break the 6,000-point barrier in the heptathlon. She achieved this at the Portuguese National Championships in Braga with a score of 6,020 points, also setting a new championship record.[1]
- World University Games: She represented Portugal at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany, where she finished fifth in the heptathlon with a personal best of 5,956 points.[2]
- National Titles: She is a multiple-time National Champion, including winning the 2025 Iberian Indoor Pentathlon title and a national title in the U23 pentathlon.[3]
