Marie Chapian
Marie Chapian is an American writer, lecturer, speaker, radio ministry host, Christian counselor,[1][dead link] and psychotherapist based in California. She was the author of more than 25 books,[2] including those related to health and fitness. Chapian was nominated for the Ten Outstanding Women of America Award. Her books were translated into more than 24 languages,[1] including Arabic and Chinese.
Career
She created the Blessercize aerobics video.[3]
Cathleen Mae Webb agreed to write a book with Chapian about why she withdrew her charges of rape and kidnapping against Gary Dotson.[4] The book, Forgive Me, was published in 1985.[5]
Chapian co-authored Free to Be Thin, a Christian diet program in 1994.[6]
Awards
She has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for fiction and the National Book Award, and she has won the Cornerstone Book of the Year Award.[7]
Chapian was a recipient of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's Platinum Book Award for her book, Free to Be Thin. Her other recognitions include two Cornerstone Book of the Year Awards, the Gold Medallion Book Award and the Silver Angel Awards[1]
