Marie Dasylva is a French businesswoman born in Paris with Guinean origins. She is a woman committed to the struggle of "racialized women". In 2017, she founded the agency Nkali Works[1] for "racialized women".
Biography
Early life
Marie Dasylva did secondary education in a high school in Paris, more precisely, in the 14th district. After passing a literary baccalaureate, she stopped her studies to become self-made.[2]
Life
She started working in the sales sector at the age of 18. A psychological distress and a dismissal led her to burn-out in 2014. In January 2017, she founded NkaliWorks which is an agency promoting the empowerment of racialized women [3]. She organizes coaching and training to help these women, students and professionals, to fight against the racist and sexist discrimination they face on a daily basis[4]. Nkali means reclaiming one's narrative. It is an Igbo word coming from Nigeria.
As a strategy coach, she has developed very empirical, extremely down-to-earth concepts[5]. On a Twitter account, she has created the hashtag #ThursdaySurvivalAtWork[6]. In 2020, she launched her podcast Better Call Marie[7] (presumably inspired by the title of the series Better Call Saul).
