Mario Cerrito III is an American screenwriter, film director and producer.[1] He has written, produced and directed several films.[2]
Early life[edit]
Cerrito was born in 1984, in Audubon New Jersey. He played baseball at Woodstown High School in South Jersey.[3] He is of Italian heritage.[4]
Career[edit]
Mario's first venture in filmmaking was in 2012 with a film trailer to raise money for a full movie titled, "The Cornfield Massacre." The project featured Mark Borkowski who played the character Paul Sagorsky in HBO's hit series Boardwalk Empire.[5]
His most notable film, Deadly Gamble was made on a mere $10,000 budget and was signed by and currently being distributed by Los Angeles-based production company and distributor Cinema Epoch who represented it at the 2015 American Film Market in Santa Monica California.[6][7] It was released nationwide in 2015 to cable On Demand through platforms such as Comcast, Verizon, Cox Communications and Dish Network. In addition it was also released to online movie streaming websites VUDU a Walmart company, EPIX, Google Play and Microsoft.[8][9] "Deadly Gamble" was featured on popular poker website Pocket Fives and ALL IN MAG.[10][11]
Deadly Gamble was ranked #24 on hellhorror.com amongst the top 135 movies of 2015. [12] It was also voted a top ten independent horror film of 2015 from popular horror critic and blogger Tom H's Blog of Horror. [13]
Mario's sophomore film, suspense-thriller, THE LISTING is currently in post production. The movie features Canadian native horror actress Jessica Cameron and host Connie Romano.[14][15]
Mario is attached as an associate producer on the upcoming feature film "Right Before Your Eyes" starring Brian O'Halloran and Brian Anthony Wilson.[2]
He has also co-written a TV pilot script with Hollywood actor Renoly Santiago and self published a book titled Chasin' Brandy. [16]
