Mario Morino is a Full professor at the University of Turin, Italy in the department of Surgery.[1][2][3]

Education

Mario Morino went to the University of Turin and graduated in 1982 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery. He specialized in General Surgery at the University of Turin in 1987.[citation needed]

Research and career

Mario Morino’s principal research areas include laparoscopic colorectal surgery and oncology, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, obesity surgery, laparoscopic surgery for reflux, and laparoscopic surgery for the adrenal glands.[4][5] Prof. Mario Morino has conducted more than 9000 laparoscopic procedures and around 5000 open procedures.[6] His primary clinical interests include minimally invasive colorectal cancer treatment, bariatric surgery, and functional upper GI surgery.[7][8]

In 2021, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery for his work on minimally invasive surgical procedures.[9][10]

Morino is presently working as Chief of Oncologic surgery at the University of Turin.
