Mark Holden (Actor)
Mark Holden is an award winning actor with almost three decades of acting experience[1] who played in movies such as Stalled (2013), Captain Phillips (2013), World War Z (2013) and Final Destination (2000). Along his career, started in his late 20s in Edmonton (Canada), he also performed in TV shows such as X-Files (TV series, 1997-98), Millennium (TV series, 1997-98) and Stargate SG-1 (TV series, 1999).[2] Among his record of voicing characters, he played a large spectrum of roles in video games such as Ghost Recon Wildlands, Galaxy on Fire 3: Manticore, The Division, Homefront: The Revolution and Battlefield 1. Mark Holden played also the role of a CIA handler[3] in Deep State, a British thriller series launched in the United Kingdom on Fox on 5 April 2018.[4] The show will be premiering in the US on 17 June 2018[5] on Epix.
The Double Deal, a short film written and produced by Mark Holden, won the Festival Prize for the Best Short Film at San Diego Black Film Festival and an award of excellence for the Best Short Film at Canada International Film Festival in 2016.[6]
Mark Holden started his acting career mentored by Robin Phillips, a British actor and film director who spent part of his career working in Canada where he shaped new acting talents like Holden. Mark developed an impressive career in the police force as well, successfully participating at sport competitions related to this professional employment. In 1981 he won the International Police Decathlon in Austin (Texas) setting the championship record. Mark was previously carrying out another career in sport, being a member of the Great Britain bobsled team he had to spent time away from home, so at the age of 29 his love for acting brought him to leave the bobsledding and pursue a career within this other beloved field.[7]
