Mark Lefever
Mark Lefever (Hooglede,1953- [citation needed] - 2025) was a Belgian radio presenter and radio producer.
Biography
From 1980 to 1981, Lefever worked for BRT-1, from 1982 to 1991 for BRT 2 West-Vlaanderen/ Radio 2 West-Vlaanderen. In 1992 he co-founded Donna. From 1993 to 1999 he was active for Studio Brussel and from 2000 to 2011 he worked again for Radio 1, Sporza (also as a co-founder of the predecessor of Sporza Radio, 927 Live) and Klara.
Lefever was an inventor, compiler, presenter and producer of radio programmes on public broadcasting such as: Big Band Battle, Golfbreker, Boem Boem, Fris van Lefever, Bluestown, Nox, Zazou, Pili Pili, Exit Plus Blues, Exit Plus Soul, Friday on My Mind and Jazz. He retired in 2011.
Lefever presented a variety of music events such as Gent Jazz Festival, Gent Jazz Club and Jazz in 't Park (Ghent), Big Band- and jazzwedstrijd Luisterplein Gent, Stormfestival (Oostende), B-Jazz International Jazz Contest (Leuven), Roeselare Jazz, Bruges Festival, Diaspora Brugge, Jazzenede, and Amersfoort Jazz. He also served as presenter and moderator of the East Flanders Provincial Culture (2015, 2016, 2017).
Since 2015, Lefever has been a chairman of the Selection Committee for the Luisterpunt Library and is actively involved as narrator of books for people with reading disabilities.
