Mark Pack is an author, political commentator, podcaster and Liberal Democrat political activist. He runs the popular newsletter Liberal Democrat Newswire and is the current President of the Liberal Democrats.
Public career
Author and columnist
Pack is the co-author of 101 Ways to Win an Election, a guide to campaigning informed by his political career and recommended by the London School of Economics Review of Books for "budding Merkels and Obamas"..[1]
Pack has written for The Guardian, Huffington Post UK, and the New Statesman, on polling as well as opinion pieces on the Lib Dems[2][3][4]. He also writes for Liberal History[5]
Consultant
Pack has worked at Mandate Communications from 2009 to 2010 and then as the Head of Digital for MHP Communications, the conglomerate that Mandate was absorbed into, from 2010 to 2013.[6][7] He went on to work for Teneo.[8]

Pack ran the Liberal Democrats' internet campaigns during the 2001 and 2005 general elections.[9][10][11] He is well known for his newsletter Liberal Democrat Newswire.
Liberal Democrat Presidential Campaign
On September 12th 2019, Pack announced he would be running for president of the Liberal Democrats[12], challenging Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine.[13] He ran on the pledge to "make [the UK] more liberal and democratic".[14]

He won with 14,381 of the 24,545 ballots that were cast, giving him 58.6% of the vote.[17]
