MarketScout is an insurance distribution and underwriting company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The firm is a Lloyd’s Coverholder and Managing General Agent for US insurers that primarily handles writing insurance in specialty markets for workers’ compensation, affluent personal lines, energy, healthcare, fine art, equine, jewelry, professional liability. They own and operate the MarketScout Exchange and CIC Select marketplace. Both of which are online insurance exchanges that connect retail agents directly with carriers to write programs for various insurance markets.[1]
MarketScout owns and operates the Market Barometer. It is a quarterly report of the industry’s composite rate index for property/casualty and personal insurance.[2] [3]

MarketScout is the founder of the Council for Insuring Private Clients (CIPC) and administers the Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM) designation in partnership with The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. They are exclusive partners with The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. MarketScout founded the Entrepreneurial Insurance Alliance (EIA) in 2007 to support insurance entrepreneurs. In 2017, they founded the MarketScout InsurTech (MIT) venture fund. In January 2018, MarketScout launched their Incubator to fund and invest in start-up Managing General Agents and assume operational functions for existing Managing General Agents and insurers.[4]
Council for Insuring Private Clients (CIPC)[edit]
MarketScout founded the Council for Insuring Private Clients (CIPC). Insurers AIG and Chubb Limited are Strategic Partners of the CIPC. The CIPC is a venue that connects agents and insurers doing business in the private clients insurance industry. Any entity or individual with a focus on insuring high net worth individuals may join the CIPC. The annual CIPC Conference provides attendees the opportunity to network with high net worth insurers, agents, investors and others involved in the high net worth space.
Insurers AIG and Chubb Limited are Strategic Partners of the CIPC.
