Marques Jones Marques Jones (born June 29th, 1981) is an American political candidate and activist. He served as the Chair of the Government Relations Advisory Committee for the Virginia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.[1] and was appointed by former Governor Terry McAuliffe[2] to the board of Virginia’s Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority (ATLFA).

Early Life and Education Jones was born in Columbus, Ohio[3] in 1981. He was born to parents Alice Parker and Donald A. Jones Jr. Marques Jones is one of six children. In 1986, the family relocated to Bluefield, West Virginia. There Marques attended Ramsey Elementary, Graham Middle School, Graham High School (Class of 1999). Upon graduating highs school, Jones attended Marshall University[4] where he received a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Science and Technology in 2003.

Career After finishing his undergraduate degree, Jones became and software engineer. A few years passed, and Jones entered the financial services sector as project management and process engineering. Jones founded ComForCare Home Care of Northwest Richmond[5] in Richmond, Virginia[6] in mid-2017. The company, of which Jones is the President, helps seniors and others living with challenges to live independently. Activism

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis[7] in 2008, Jones changed as well did his outlook on life. He shifted his energy from climbing the corporate ladder to becoming advocating for those with chronic diseases and disabilities. Jones served as chair of the Government Relations Advisory Committee in Virginia for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. As a representative of the Society and its members, he works with legislators on all levels championing causes aimed at improving the lives of people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. He also serves as a regional team lead with the advocacy group Health Care for All Virginians supporting the idea that all Virginia residents deserve access to quality healthcare.

Political Career

Later he became involved in Virginia politics and served on the Executive Committee of the Henrico County Democratic Committee as Chair until July of 2018. In the fall of 2016, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe[8] named Marques to the board of Virginia’s Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority[9].

Currently, Jones is a political candidate and is running for the position[10] of Senator in Virginia’s 12th senate district[11]
