Martin Daňo is a Slovakian investigative journalist and an entrepreneur known for the many political cases he published on YouTube.[1]
According to a survey by Stratégie and Hospodárske noviny, he is among the three most well-known journalists in Slovakia.[2]
Martin Daňo announced his candidacy for President of Slovakia 2019 on 16 February 2018.[3]
Martin Dano became an official presidential candidate. On 23 January 2019, he presented sixteen signatures from MPs to the Chair of Parliament Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) and Danko accepted Dano's candidacy.[4]
Martin Daňo was detained by the police on December 13, 2019 and released from prison after 41 days on January 22, 2020. The reason was the upcoming elections and his statements about politicians and corruption in an online political satirical show called Takže tak! (english: So So)![5][6]
