Martin Gavin (born October 4th, 1966, in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian curler. He has played in 3 Briers, representing the Northwest Territories/Yukon team.

He and his team (Paul Flemming, Peter Burgess, Kris Granchelli) won the 2023 Canadian Senior Curling Championships[2], and will be representing Canada at the 2024 World Senior Curling Championships in Östersund, Sweden.[3]

Career

After moving to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories in 2008, Gavin joined Jamie Koe's men's curling team and competed in three Briers. He played in the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary, Alberta, and the 2010 Tim Hortons Brier in London, Ontario. At Gavin's first Brier, he earned recognition for his performance in the Ford Hot Shots skills competition, ultimately placing runner-up to Craig Savill.[4]

Gavin later had the opportunity to represent his home province of Nova Scotia twice at the Canadian Senior Curling Championships, first in 2019, and later in 2023. In 2023, team Nova Scotia; consisting of Gavin, Kris Granchelli, Peter Burgess, and skip Paul Flemming won the championship and are slated to represent Canada at the 2024 World Senior Curling Championships.[5]


Personal life

Gavin is employed as Canadian Federal Sector Leader for GHD Group. He is married and has two children.[6]
