Martine Robbeets is a Belgian linguist working on the historical typology of Transeurasian languages (commonly known as Altaic languages). She is a research group leader at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History, Jena.
Education
Robbeets obtained her Ph. D. degree in Comparative Linguistics from Leiden University. She also holds an M.A in Korean Studies from Leiden and an M.A. in Japanese Studies from KU Leuven.
