Marty Cordes
Marty Cordes is an American philanthropist, arts supporter, and co-founder of the Cordes Foundation, a family foundation focused on social entrepreneurship, gender equity, and impact investing. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Parrish Art Museum,[1] and is a member of Women Moving Millions, a global philanthropic community committed to advancing gender equity.[2]
Philanthropy
In 2006, Marty Cordes co-founded the Cordes Foundation with her husband, investment executive Ron D. Cordes. The foundation supports initiatives in social entrepreneurship, economic opportunity, and gender-lens philanthropy.[3]
Cordes has been deeply involved in advancing artisan enterprise, women's economic empowerment, and ethical supply-chain development. She served for many years on the Board of Directors of Nest, a nonprofit supporting global artisan and handworker communities, and now serves on Nest’s Advisory Board.[4]
Under her co-leadership, the Cordes Foundation became one of the early family foundations to commit to aligning 100% of its endowment with impact investments, supporting the broader movement toward mission-aligned capital.[5]
Personal life
Marty married Ron D. Cordes in January 1988. They have one child, Stephanie Cordes (Steph Stephenson), who serves as Co-Chair of the Cordes Foundation.[6]
