Marvel Premiere Featuring Dr. Strange: Master of the Mystic Arts is the second arc included in the Marvel Premiere comic book published by Marvel Comics. This story marked the return to success of Doctor Strange, who landed a new solo series after finishing this arc, as did Adam Warlock and Iron Fist.

Plot[edit]

The first part of the arch consists of the numbers 3-10. Here we are told how Doctor Strange is warned of a millennial evil that will return to torment humans, so Strange will have to face his followers to prevent said comal from achieving his mission. This arc marks the first appearance of the villain Shuma-Gorath, as well as the death of Ancient One, prompting Doctor Strange to take on the title of "Sorcerer Supreme." The second part is made up of the numbers 11-14. After defeating Shuma-Gorath, Strange tries to visit his enemy Baron Mordo to inform him that he has become the “Sorcerer Supreme”, but all this is interrupted by the appearance of a sorcerer known as Sise- Neg, who plans to go back in time to absorb all the magic of the universe and thus transform into God.

Doctor Strange's starring role in the Marvel Premiere series segued to the character's second ongoing title, Doctor Strange: Master of the Mystic Arts, also known as Doctor Strange vol. 2, which ran 81 issues (June 1974 – February 1987).[1]
