Mary Annaïse Heglar is an American journalist and writer known for essays on the climate crisis, and climate justice.[1][2] She is also the co-host of the climate podcast, Hot Take, along with writer Amy Westervelt.[3][4]
In 2020 she took up a position as writer-in-residence at the Earth Institute, Columbia University.[5]
Heglar is known for coining the term 'greentrolling', which refers to trolling fossil fuel companies on social media in an attempt to discredit posts which are arguably greenwashing.[6][7][8][9]
Heglar contributed a chapter to the 2020 essay collection All We Can Save.[10]
