Masayoshi Yamamoto (山本 正義, Yamamoto Masayoshi, born May 19, 1979) is a Japanese photographer.

Biography[edit]

Born in Shōdoshima island in Kagawa Prefecture, he was raised in Osaka. He still live in Osaka as of 2019[1].

His main shooting targets have been stray cats living in the islands in the Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内海, Seto Naikai). In many of these photos, cats often stand on their hind legs, that Yamamoto specifically calls 'Tachi-neko', that means standing cat in Japanese language. He published those Tachi-neko photos mainly on his page in Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook[1].

In 2019, photo book 'Tachi neko' was released in Japan.
